We are very thankful to live in such a beautiful place and we acknowledge that the natural and social environments that surround us are very precious.
We will endeavour to operate and behave in a socially and environmentally responsible manner, within the key areas of Energy Efficiency, Waste Management, Water Conservation, Conservation and our Community.
Examples of these practices are that we:
- Are members of the Coromandel Sustainable Tourism Group, a network of local businesses focused on enhancing the positive impacts their business may have on the environment and community
- Recycle - Plastics, paper, glass and ink cartridges – and use local authority roadside collections
- Monitor energy use and waste
- Collect electronic waste and dispose of them on the annual collection days
- Grow our own vegetables and organic waste is composted
- Launder all linen on-site with outside line drying
- Educate others about the Te Whanganui-A-Hei (Cathedral Cove) Marine Reserve and safe boating
- Endeavour to purchase the bulk of our supplies from local sources which supports employment in our community.
